PhD Colloquium on Late Antiquity

Welcome to the website of the PhD Colloquium on Late Antiquity!

Our initiative takes a cue from the Edinburgh Conference on Late Antiquity (21-22 April 2016). Like the Edinburgh Conference, this event is cross-disciplinary and aims to bring together research students working on any aspect of Late Antiquity.

 

However, we adopted a slightly different format. Relying on the range of expertise existing at the University of Reading, we will have each paper followed by a personalised response by a senior scholar and plenary discussion, thus shaping the event as a workshop.

The keynote address by Dr. Chiara Tommasi, University of Pisa (Esotericism in Classical and Late Antiquity) will provide all the delegates with a state-of-the-art evaualution of late antique religiosity.

Our Colloquium is generously sponsored by the School of Humanities of the University of Reading.
